So excited about this one.
Oh FUCK YESSSSS!!
I have been waiting MANY years for this to come out on the format
Finally an English friendly uncut version, without crappy VHS quality gore inserts.
So insanely happy about this!!
Does 88 Films charge upfront for preorders, even for credit card purchases?
Blastfighter is fucking awesome.
Night Train Murders Blu-ray review: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Night-Train-Murders-Blu-ray/119321/#Review
After the announcement of Zombi 3, and all the other movies in the Italian collection, 88Films is REALLY becoming my favorite cultlabel
Thanks. I blew part of my tax refund on 5 titles (down from 7) which hurt a little, but at least they're all paid for - don't have to worry about overdraft charges later . The news about High Rising Productions leaving the company worries me a bit, though. That'll leave a vacuum at 88 that hopefully won't affect their extras.
Apparently, Calum has also been instrumental in securing titles for 88 Films. That is the thing that has me worried. 88 Films has a super strong slate at the moment - I hope the company will be able to build on that momentum for years.
I hope they have the rights to release "Ghosthouse", as I rather would have an extras filled single release of the movie, instead of having it packed in with that crappy "Witchery" movie in Scream Factory´s release.
Let's hope they re-visit 'Tourist Trap' again in the near future. It'd be nice if they could try and get a transfer of the original cut
since i have most of the Italian movies they release already on DVD, i won't upgrade (because the DVD releases are already good enough or i don't care for the movie in question)
the only exception might become Zombi 3, since the Shriek Show DVD leaves much to be desired
If I remember correctly the Shriek Show DVD had an audio commentary and an introduction with the two leads as well as 6 interviews. They will all not be ported over. So I will definitely keep the DVD.
It seems to me that Shriek Show extras are usually not ported over. Is that true? If so, does anyone know why?
I seem to recall reading somewhere that they were working on that, but I can't find the source so I may be mistaken.
No, you're right - I read the same. It came from 88 Films. I think it was a facebook quote that someone reposted on Blu-ray.com. That was a while ago, though, so I think if anything became of it surely there would be an update by now. I think 88 will just quietly let this go - they have bigger fish to fry right now, with a ramped-up release schedule and that High Rising mess, they've got their work cut out for them. Shame really, as the Tourist Trap fiasco was just a screw up. The real remaster is sitting around somewhere.
Pre-ordered Anthropophagus. Couldn't pass up the extra goodies for pre-ordering, plus, the included documentary 42nd Street Memories made it a no brainer. Looking forward to it.

Can't believe they have got Anthropophagous uncut, WOW! Hopefully they have also purchased Absurd and will be announcing this shortly?
i love how at the bottom of that poster it says "Available at all good video dealers"...because carrying nazi-sploitation titles really qualifies one as a pillar of their community!
