I have seriously been thinking of ordering it... I just keep hoping a domestic release from Universal is forthcoming. I don't know why they're just sitting on it in the states, since it would definitely sell quite well.

In an article on digital bits I read a while back said they had contacted Universal and they had zero plans for the series.

Hmm, guess I'd better go ahead and order it then the next time the price drops lower on Amazon DE.

That's just stupid of Universal...

I so want this set. I watched it every week, including Galactica 1980 and own both series on DVD. I would LOVE to have both on Blu-Ray, I just don't have a region-free Blu-Ray player. I also have a Cylon tattoo on my right leg on the right side.

Perhaps time to get that region free player? It will benefit you more than just this one purchase.

It sounds like it's actually coming to North America in early 2015: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two-cents/111114_1115

I'll probably cancel my Amazon UK pre-order and wait it out and see...especially since it apparently doesn't include a bonus disc of features. I'm sure the US set will be cheaper too.

Yeah i waited a long time to get the German set, until it was on at a ridiculously low price.. otherwise i wouldve waited for the uk set or now the Australasian set that's due in dec/jan.
ALSO Germany has both seasons of Buck Rogers coming to blu ray early next year!

Yeah, I was excited about those when I first saw them up for pre-order, but then I read that they're being advertised by the studio as "SD":

    http://www.amazon.de/Buck-Rogers-Staffel-Blu-ray-Discs/dp/B00P9B0EJM/

    http://www.amazon.de/Buck-Rogers-in-the-25th-Century-Season-2-Blu-ray/dp/B00P9B0EX8/

...notice where they show "Standard Definition on Blu-ray" at the top of the coverart for both seasons.

This is great news! Now if only they would release Stargate SG1 on blu ray...

Sad news. Larson had a long and distinguished career in television. Rest In Peace.

    Sad News indeed :(

Many great memories, watching his shows, together with my dad, back in the 80:s.

    RIP Larson

RIP, Glen. I saw the news Saturday afternoon. I watched Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers In the 25th Century and Knight Rider each week, never missed an episode, and own all three complete series on DVD.

    Full press release:

    The Definitive Collection: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Battlestar-Galactica-The-Definitive-Collection-Blu-ray/119231/

    The Remastered Collection: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Battlestar-Galactica-Blu-ray/119230/

So apparently if you want the original "Full Screen" HD versions, you'll want to get The Definitive Collection 18-disc set. If you don't mind the reframed Widescreen HD versions, then get the slightly cheaper The Remastered Collection 8-disc set.
