This is coming from Media Blasters/Shriek Show? Interesting that they would release this on Blu, as they've even recently cancelled some announced DVD releases due to poor prebooking numbers.

    Yea...definitely a depraved film. I pre-ordered it. Lets hope they don't cancel.

Awesome film. I don't really see a benefit of a Blu though.

Just watched this the other day and really enjoyed it. If it's reasonably priced then I'd be happy to pick it up on Blu.

Hopefully this means there's a possibility of Grizzly coming out on Blu. That's one of those titles that would finally get me on the format.

Cool. I've always wanted to buy this movie. I watched it for the first time a couple of years ago and loved it. I'll prob wait to buy it until it's actually released to make sure everything's good though. Read a few reviews ya know?

Teehee, just noticed the typo :D

I did a search but couldn't find it. And I never visit the HD forum.
But because there's also DVD involved I didn't think it would hurt to post it here ;)

Anyway, does anyone know if they use(d) a new master for the DVD?

Threads merged. Great news, always wanted to watch this one. Hopefully this is the start of many Shriek Show Blu-rays. I know Scream (1981) could surely benefit from the extra resolution... :D

I think it's awesome that they are choosing such an odd movie to be one of their flagship blu-rays. I used to own this on DVD, and they day I got it, a friend and I were watching it when my ex-girlfriend walked in after getting home from work. She happened to walk in when they were putting the naked chubby girl into the acid. She had never been exposed to such depravity before i guess so I had to spend the rest of the night trying to explain why I was watching the movie, and that I wasn't some kind of sick psycho. Ahhh, memories.

Probably because I personally have seen it enough times, already. But further, if it is an Argento film, or even the likes of Gates of Hell where location and lighting play a factor, I'll be more onboard.

I really like some of D'Amato's films (Anthro, Buio, etc) but I don't find them to have been shot very stylistically. Anthro has a nice location as a backdrop, but D'Amato was more about cashing in on what was already popular, and gave us great gore, but not with the flair of Argento.
