I friggin' love Spellcaster. It may be corny at times, but it's awesome.
No it's not. Maybe if you saw this movie as a kid, you'd be proned to still like it but there's nothing fun or interesting about the story, the characters, or the death scenes. All I can say is that the acting and music are decent. That's not much.
Since it clearly owed quite a bit to Dolls, it's worth mentioning that Dolls is just clearly superior. Monster Dog is better too, which also involves the creepy big house, rock musicians, and freaky deaths.
LOL I just love pretentious, bloated, and long-winded flamers who insist that their opinion is the final word on anything.
I'm sure you and your right hand make a lovely couple.
Quit being such an asshole. People do have other opinions on films rather than your own anal retentive opinions, you know?
And considering some of the super lame films you've admitted to being "masterpieces" on this forum before... just shut up.
Guys, just ignore the obv trolling. You've opened the thread up to five paragraphs on WHY Spellcaster is the worst piece of cinema ever unleashed upon the Charlie Brown-hating public that is American film-goers, and why Puppet Master XII: Puppet Time Forever is a true masterpiece of fiction because of a three second kill that features the special effects of a guy who is credited as "Sr. Grip" in the production credits of a Tales from the Crypt episode.
Wow, 3 replies later and still not one actual opinion from anyone else on the movie in-question.
I'm sure this will only fuel the troll rumors but, are you guys here for drama or actual discussion? You might want to actually contribute something. Unless you've seen or remember the movie, you're wasting everyone's time.
Can you not just learn to keep your fat, opinionated trap shut? Opinions are one thing, but it became obvious a long time ago that you just like to be on the 'other side' for the sake of appearing smarter than you really are.
And I think you should take a look at the actual definition of an internet troll. That term seems to be thrown around way too much lately, often times in defense against anyone who has either:
a) an opinion different from yours
b) put you in your rightful place.
Seriously. Shut the fuck up and quit being such a flamey, contradictory little bitch.
Don't worry, he's now on ignore. I've never once placed a user on ignore here in the forum, but his posts are always useless trolling tripe.
He simply cannot even respect other's opinions, and that's just quite sad and pathetic.
I would advise everyone who doesn't like hearing what I have to say to put me on Ignore.
Otherwise, I will say this once more since you seem to have missed it entirely: I'm only interested in discussing the movie.
Yep: I said it because I actually meant it. Shocking, right?
A lot of people are going to be putting you on ignore.
And now my screen has less shit on it.
Am I crazy? I can't find Video Dead, Bikini Island, or Spellcaster on Netflix streaming. :troll:
They were taken down during that huge April Netflix-pocalypse thing.
I actually read a few articles about it but I didn't need to: I just looked on my Instant Queue one day and about 125-135 different movies were marked for removal on the same freaking day. Most of them were MGM movies, Spellcaster was an Empire Pictures film so of course they've had that since they acquired Troll, Ghoulies, From Beyond, Robot Jox, etc. This also included quite a few other titles, such as Spellbinder, Open House, Love at Stake, a bunch of non-horror stuff.
Watched Catacombs early this morning and dug it. The scene with the statue was suitably creepy. Thought about giving Pit and the Pendulum another shot now that it's on Blu. Perhaps eventually. Pity Initiation couldn't get a nice Blu release to tie in with the Carrie remake. Same for Carrie 2.
