I never picked up the original release so I'll be buying this one.
Hell,I'm buying this one too.Even without the extras
I'm glad I waited on this one. I've been content with my old Roan LD until now.
After the job they did with Zombie, I bet BU's BWTCP will be great.
I cannot wait for this one , so glad a waited .
I have to get this. Argento is one of the few directors that I want all his films on DVD!! I haven't bought this one yet, since I have an original VHS to hold me over. Hope to get this and Trauma when it comes out, and where is Four Flies???
Watched it again yesterday and I noticed a couple of things.
First of all it definitely needs a cleaning up.I guess at the time this came out this was the best they could do.It's a good job but I think it can be done better.Second is the murder scenes.
There are only two explicit murder scenes here: one is the panty-ripping/murder and second is the open razor murder.
These were obviously cut from the film and then added again from a very noticeable inferior video source.
And last is the dubbing. This is one of those movies from Italy that has good dubbing but my only complaint is synchronicity. The sound doesn't match the picture on various occasions.
So I'm very interested in what BU is going to do with this one.
i got big nuts man i got big nuts dog
The VCI DVD looks bad, especially the poor video source scenes. I'll be getting the BU DVD in particular cause I like this movie a lot.
I watched the VCI disc last night, and the quality is great, so like Chaostar said, there's no reason to upgrade this one!! I don't know what everyone's talking about when they say it's a poor quality transfer??
It will be part of the Giallo Collection Pt.2.
More the reason to get the giallo collection pt.2 when it comes out.
The cover looks like a slipcase.
I wonder how good those never before seen scenes are?
Can't wait for this mofo.
I wonder how "explicit" the extra scenes of violence will be. This was a PG flick after all.
Wow, I'm shocked they found extra footage - although there are obvious cuts during some scenes on the VCI release (the panty ripping definately has something wrong).
Should I sell my VCI version? What do you guys think?
It has ofcourse the Morricone soundtrack but only 192kbps if I'm not mistaken.
And I'd rather pop in a CD to listen to music then a DVD.Plus my CD player is far superior to my DVD player.
So I might be better off buying the original CD.
I sold my VCI release when i bought the Medusa disc. And i can´t imagine that BU can beat that transfer but i will get it anyway!
I'll hold onto the VCI mainly due to the soundtrack.
I'm just glad this wasn't released in 2:1 ratio. The cinematographer Vittorio Storaro's involvment in widescreen releases have been converted to 2:1 because that's the new scope format he's trying to sell. So movies like Apocalypse Now have been released in that ratio when they couldn't have even been filmed that way because he hadn't invented the process yet. What a freakin` idiot.
