Happy New Year!
I'm positive that's a Night of the Living Dead hint in the lower right corner.
Ghost World maybe? Hopefully.
The speculation on bluray.com is that it's "They Live by Night" (1948).
It could be a double hint, or they could be speculating wrong...
I hope so.
16 Candles is in there
Julia and Julie maybe? I'm pretty sure that is Julia Child in the center
Ghost World I believe.
Oh dear lord, please say it is so!
Seems like a safe bet as the ghost is whirling.
The cornstalk next to the tuxedo-clad letter "R" is apparently a hint ("Stalk"-"R") for Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker.
I would certainly prefer Ghost World over Dance so I'm hoping you are right there. Though they both do seem likely candidates for Criterion treatment
Stalker - now few things would make me happier than that one. So, I am really really hoping that's correct
Any of those clues for Element of Crime? I suck at puzzles.
Everybody seemed convinced that there was a clue for Ringu last year, and it did seem pretty obvious, but that never materialized, I guess...
Probably a stretch, but could the ? in the box ( left hand corner) be "Se7en?" Brad Pitt = "What's in the box?!"
Speculation on that one is a Thai film called "Mysterious Object at Noon"
I see. That makes more sense......
I'd buy it again, especially if it were to contain the Fincher & cast commentary from the laserdisc which was never ported over to DVD or blu-ray.
I'm going with the double hint. According to someone, it happened before (Dr. Stragelove and Exterminating Angel).
PS. Night is definitely Criterion worthy. Just sayin'.
Ghost World, finally!
Hoping the clock is for Scorsese's After Hours.
