dwatts, that book looks great. Think I'll be ordering it.
I really like the origional Mighty Joe Young also. Even though it is sorta about the same kind of thing Kong is (giant ape) it doesn't feel the same at all. Both films feel completely different and they are both classics in my book.
Now Son of Kong I feel is just OK. I couldn't get into the silliness of the ape, and if I remember right, it runs just over 1 hour. It had a certain rushed feel to it just to capitolize on Kong's success. Not a bad film though.
Dude it was release less than a year after Kong! Considering there are so many monsters in it, that is a superhuman feat! He must have never slept! Too bad that his talent was wasted on such a lame script.
Did anyone get the tin? Are they numbered?
I'm getting mine at work today. If no one posts, I'll let you know.
Yes, I got it.
No, it's not numbered.
Also, the mail in offer for the reprint original Kong poster is "Valid in the USA Only" which REALLY pisses me off :fire:
I rented this from work over the weekend, didn't get a chance to check out any of the features though, just watched the movie.
Couldn't find this shit anywhere around here today. What a fuckin piss off.
walmart and circuit city had alot of copies
circuit city also had the tin and box set
I saw the tin at Walmart, FutureShop and Best Buy here in Ontario. Mind you, each store had less than 5 copies left. Looks to me to be another case of underestimating demand.
How much does it cost?
$3.95 S&H I believe.
My boxset came with the tin. Is this unusual for stores besides Best Buy? Plus, my tin got bent up a little bit but oh well.
The boxset with the tin is a bestbuy exclusive.
Unfortunatley for me, it's a USA Bestbuy exclusive (couldn't find it at BestBuy or Future Shop)
The wife was good enough to swing by Best Buy on the way home from work and pick up the tin/box set for me. I'm still at work and can't wait to get home to check this out. My most anticipated DVD release this year. King Kong is the shiznit.
I picked up The Kong boxset today at Media Play for 29.99. I actually got it for 20.00 because I had a ten dollar credit! Can't wait to watch it on Thanksgiving!
I have my tin on hold at work, picking it up this Fri/Sat. I'll be trading some things in, so it won't cost me a penny.
just watched it. The print is fantastic (compared to other times I've seen the movie) and the recreated spider pit sequence (an extra on the second disc) is a real treat!
I just drooled on my t-shirt.
i was going to get the boxset today, but no store had it. however, i noticed on Best Buy's website they have an "exclusive" deal that has all 3 films (KK / SoK / MJY), with KK being the TIN edition, for only $34, so i'll just order that.
