Ack! I missed the mailman today
I'm heading to the post office first thing in the morning.
Picked up the tin at Best Buy last night for $34. Can't wait to re-watch all 3 films. I haven't seen them in years!!
Heh, I don't remember King Kong being this violent. He eats people, steps on them, throws them, drops them from large heights and strips them of their clothing. The true definition of a monster.
Yes! That is because most people have only seen the cut version they show on TV.
King Kong Rules uncut
That's because you've probably never seen it like this. 29 cuts were made to the film when it was "reissued" in 1938. The footage was thought lost, but eventually turned up in a private collection. Apparently the editor who clipped the scenes took the cut film home with him, and later sold it to a private collector.
This DVD is taken from a print found in the UK - where the film was never cut to begin with.
All this is in the documentary on Disc 2. It's all quite facinating.
this disc is awesome! I love the Peter Jackson bit and the recreation of the "Lost Spider Pit". Worth every penny. :fire:
Someone is getting me the Box Set for X-Mas so now I will have to wait a month to see them, on the plus side, it will be free
I picked up the BB exclusive box set and all I can say is it was easily the buy of the year. For $34 you get King Kong tin, Son of Kong and Mighty Joe Young and 5 bonus lobby cards? Fucking sa-weet! I felt like a little kid again when I popped in the movie for the first time in a while. Incredible. Still as amazing now as it was when I used to watch it as a child. Tonight I'll do SOK and MJY. I couldn't begin to recommend this set enough.
Did anyone else have a BITCH of a hard time taking the digipac thing out of the slipcover? Holy god.
