I have a feeling all order are still onsite at CAV, regardless of when the shipping notices were received, and have not technically been shipped, yet. My tracking number from early yesterday still indicates that the package has a label created but has not actually been received by USPS, and I haven't seen any posts anywhere else where tracking information confirmed receipt by the post office.

Yeah I think it’s probably the latter and not the former. Everyone who got shipment notifications Wednesday and Thursday regardless of when they placed their order all seemed to be from the states. It’s only this morning that Canadian orders were given shipping notices.

I was wondering what the CAV shipping notice was from, that explains my email ...

Same here. Mine looks to still be in California, so I am not expecting it too soon.

My tracking number from CAV now shows it's moving in the postal system and should be delivered on Tuesday the 19th.

Screen comparisons between TLE / 84 Entertainment and Synapse: http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/127135

As I mentioned on Friday, I thought the Synapse release looked really vibrant, while all the screencaps I've seen of the TLE restoration have just looked kind of dead and lifeless. These comparisons have not changed those opinions.

The TLE restoration just doesn't look right, to me, at all. It's like they tried to drastically dial down the garishness of the film and instead give the whole film a kind of earthy look. The highlights on the Synapse are much brighter, but they're not actually blown out, as some have claimed, as there's no loss of detail. I'm pretty sure the doors is comparison # 2, Miss Tanner's blouse in comparison #4 and Pavlo's sleeves in comparison #6 are supposed to be white, but they look kind of a brownish-yellow in the TLE restoration.

My Synapse Steelbook arrived today! No updates at all on my tracking other than "Pre-shipment info sent to USPS" but it's at least here finally!

Yeah mine arrived on the 27th.

    It. Looks. Glorious.

And to be quite honest, it kind of makes the TLE 4K restoration look like crap. The colours look so bland in comparison. It’s like everything is muted and awash in this green tint that has been applied to the entire film. Whites aren’t actually white when you compare them to the Synapse.

    And that 4.0. Wow. Just......wow.

God I fucking love this movie.

It truly is an amazing presentation. I've seen it plenty of times before, but it's impossible to passively "watch" this blu-ray disc. I was actively gawking at nearly every shot.

As expected, the Synapse transfer is definitive. Other companies may win the resolution battle, but not the war.

Agreed. I found myself staring at the images, not just watching the movie. STARING. The colours look so lush and vibrant! The grain is perfectly resolved too. The TLE restoration has nice grain too and looks really sharp, but the colors look way off. On its own I guess it looks fine, but compared to the Synapse it only exemplifies how much more vibrant the colours are in this version. And color is what is so important about the images in this film. So it seems yet again that another restoration of Suspiria was botched and Synapse is the only true version of what the movie is SUPPOSED to look like.

But I think where the disc REALLY shines is the 4.0, which is what really lifts the Synapse version way above the others. There were parts of this movie I’d never heard before, and the depth and clarity of the noises and sound effects just take it to a whole other level.

To be honest, I've always had lukewarm feelings about this title; I never really understood why people go so crazy over it. Watching Synapse's transfer is a whole new experience, and I LOVE IT. I watched it twice in a row and cannot wait to watch it again.

    Finally, I "get it."

Yeah it's more of a sound and visual experience. I never understood the love the first time I watched it as I found the story pretty "so so" but it's grown on me a lot over the years. Last time I saw it I think I was taken aback by just how fantastic the music and sound effects are at times. The scene with the curtain and raspy breathing was truly terrifying.

I can't wait to see it again but now I'm not so sure this 4k edition I'm waiting on will be quite worth the wait unless they are doing colour correction and use Synapse's release as reference.

So are there still people waiting to receive this or should I be getting worried?
