I've seen this trailer quite a bit lately in recent trips to the theater, and I have to say, it looks pretty spectacular:

Should be a great little post-Halloween treat. Plus, it's playing in IMAX.

Anyone here looking forward to this? Trailer impressions, etc?

    This movie was fucking awesome!
An old-school war movie, with a touch of Re-Animator and Universal Soldiers. This one is worthy of the R-rating, with great gore and make-up FX, and a LOT of brutal violence!
There’s also a little nod to Carpenter’s The Thing in there :)

One of my favorite movies this year!

Both this and The Grinch are sharing the IMAX screen this weekend, so the only showtimes are after 7PM. Evening shows on weekends are a special kind of hell, and bargain Tuesday is even worse, so I'm planning to see it on either Monday or Wednesday night.

Saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. Had a bit of a Wolfenstein vibe to it. And maybe a splash of Doom as well. You might want to hurry if you want to see it in the theater.... There was only one other person in the theater with me on a late Saturday afternoon. Not a good sign.

Saw it in a packed theater, and everyone seemed to love it :)

If they added some grindhouse FX to the movie, it would have been pretty good double feature with Planet Terror :D

And, yes, I also got the Wolfenstein vibe out of the movie. ;)

No I want too, I'd like to support at the cinema, but I'm time short for the next couple of weeks.

I caught the IMAX showing last night.

Despite the loud and spectacular trailer, I was somewhat apprehensive about this one. I don't like war movies at all, as I think they're boring and hard to follow. That in mind, I'm a little surprised that I liked this one as much as I did. I thought it was impeccably paced, as the movie is already moving within the first five minutes and it never stops until the end. It's incredibly easy to follow, but driven by suspense, explosions and gunfire, fun characters, and some nice gore in the final half. You'd think a war horror movie would be really bleak and dry, but this one is seriously a feel-good horror blockbuster extravaganza.

It reminded me of Predator or The Thing, only through the tongue-in-cheek guise of Planet Terror. Loved that retro title card. Everything about it was extremely well-done. I'm not sure how it's doing theatrically (there were quite a few people there for a Monday night), but it's destined to find a cult audience, maybe once it hits disc or HBO. I'd highly recommend seeing it in IMAX while you can (Fantastic Beasts takes over starting Friday), because this one is action-packed and explosive.

I don't know if I'd call it my favorite of the year or anything, but it definitely might be the most fun big theatrical horror offering of the year.

I haven't seen it but the premise reminds me of the Outpost flicks.

Good hype in this thread. I've seen billboards all over town but no trailer until this thread. Now i am definitely interested.

I saw it at the Toronto After Dark screening. Really fun movie. A higher quality version of its kind. Great effects and story. Definitely worth a theatrical viewing, especially for the incredible opening airplane scene. The whole theater seemed to really enjoy it as per your experience, Steel76.

The blu-ray is being released on Tuesday (February 19th).

If you order it on Target.com, they currently have a B2G1 offer running on movies this week. It's not supposed to be for pre-orders, but for whatever reason it is eligible on Overlord. Current price is $19.99. The B2G1 is only good through Saturday.

This one's a keeper, so assuming you can find two other movies, it's a pretty great deal on a new release blu-ray.

I watched it last night. It was okay. Kinda bland. Way overhyped, and no better than those Outpost movies. I actually prefer Dead Snow 2 when it comes to Nazi zombies.

I completely agree. Half way through you can tell who will survive and who will not. The Dead Snow series is a blast by comparison.

I was disappointed, it was a bit long, it needed tightening up. First 15 mins were a blast I forgot too breathe! So it was more of an apparent drag I feel after that.

If you missed last week's sale, there is a 20% off coupon in Target's cartwheel app. $15.99 for a new release blu-ray.

I picked up the 4K blu-ray today based on word of mouth. The sound quality is exceptional. If you have a subwoofer, your neighbors will be cranky. The film is a lot of fun with some terrific moments. My only complaint is the shitty rap music over the end credits. The film takes place in 1944 and has a very good soundtrack. Since it's a Paramount film, I guess I should just be happy it wasn't "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys.
