DEATH SHIP NEWS:
I really like that artwork but can't say the same for the film.
I prefer the artwork on the right. The one on the left is a bit busy for my taste. Still, it's much better than the proposed art for 88 Films' upcoming release of One Dark Night, or the art for the recent Shameless release of Torso:
Back to Death Ship, it's not my cup of tea either. Too many flaws and annoyances and too few things that actually work.
Wow, that One Dark Night cover is atrocious
They announced last week on Facebook that they weren't using that artwork. The updated cover art is on Amazon UK.
Which is why I used the term "proposed art". They only changed it because the reaction was so unanimously negative. There are two things about it that don't work for me: The comic book style and the sense of composition (as in: there isn't any). That said, I find the aesthetic expression of the Torso art even uglier, and Shameless actually went with that.
Watched the Code Red blu of One Dark Night and the film is more fun than I remember. Cynical horror fiends will find it boring but I rather enjoyed it.
That is much better art.
If I'm not mistaken, this will be for standard edition releases. Scorpion will also be releasing deluxe editions through Ronin Flix.
Opera is now up for pre-order.
EDIT: It now looks like it's unavailable? I got my pre-order in.
There is still supposed to be a 3-disc deluxe edition of Opera distributed through Ronin Flix. Walt Olsen mentioned recently in the Scorpion Releasing Fan Group on Facebook, that he was probably going to go the Nightbreed route with the packaging. It sounds like it's in the authoring stage and then it will go into replication.
I’ll be keeping a close eye on this release. If most of the stuff is on the standard release, I might just go with that. I think the American cut being rxclusive to the 3-disc would ensure that I get that one. Guess we have some time so I might as well keep the preorder for now.

Deluxe Edition specs (as of 12/26/2016):
OK, this is a film that seems very interesting to me too, but I would need to know if this is region free
i hope this will be available through Amazon or DVD Pacific
Well if that’s all we’re getting with the standard, I will certainly go with the deluxe.
The standard release of The Sect will be coming out at the end of February, apparently.
Wow! They clearly got a different artist than what Shout uses. The Church cover art is amazing. Just ridiculous.
Yup. That's some next-level art Scorpion is using right there. I hope they plan on including more slipcovers with their releases, though, as that art is great but having the best of both worlds without having to flip sleeves around is the better route to go on. And clear cases are a must. The art stands out better in those. I also like Code Red's slips, especially Slithis. That was some rad shit.
