We seem to be creeping slowly back to the LD says when license holders were more open to license out and distributors were more willing to take less exclusivity on a title on the condition that they can provide their own exclusive content or transfer.

Come on Warner, let Criterion do Freaks!

If they are beginning to re-release stuff from their older catalogue.
I would kill for Robocop, The Killer and Hard Boiled, to be released again on the label.

I, for one, am thankful. I won't get my hopes up for SIXTEEN CANDLES and/or NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD like I did last year.

NOTLD is still as close to being definite as it can be (rumors are Feb 2018) and I still see Sixteen Candles as a possible release one day.

I'm more excited about Night Of The Living Dead and Elevator To The Gallows, but I'm sure I'll upgrade this next 50% sale. Hell, this should have been their October lineup!

DVDBeaver reviews and compares the new Criterion Silence of the Lambs Blu-ray: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film6/blu-ray_reviews_80/the_silence_of_the_lambs_blu-ray.htm

"The Criterion is from a "New 4K digital restoration, approved by director of photography Tak Fujimoto". This package includes a second Blu-ray with supplements. It is very evident to see the improvement of the Criterion transfer, with max'ed out bitrate in AVC, to the 2009 MGM/Fox Blu-ray. It is far crisper, has a green leaning but skin tones are cooler and more accurate. It looks superb in-motion. [...] Criterion have created the definitive Blu-ray edition with the 4K-restored transfer and substantial extras. Our highest recommendation!"
