Exactly. It would have made up for that other character that got killed
    Snoke
and definitely made the next episode very interesting because they could have gone on a search for more Jedi or started training newbies. I need more lightsaber battles.

    The prequels exist for that.

And why can't it continue here? This new direction is starting to feel a bit boring. Force users and lightsaber battles is what makes Star Wars so iconic. Take that away and it's kind of "meh" imo.

See, even a kitty cat lightsaber fight is more epic than what The Last Jedi gave us. The most memorable fight in the film was
    with those red ninja guards
but even that felt too quick and one sided.

I did finally see this today. First off I want to say I did enjoy the movie. But I was also let down a bit. I am not going to go into everything I liked and did not like- it was a fun movie overall. But it just was not as good as I thought it was going to be. I was expecting an epic movie near the level of The Empire Strikes back - not a rehash mind you - but something with the same dramatic and emotional flair of that movie- and this was definitely not in the ballpark. Again I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away by it- good not great.
