So the picture looks good? any other uncut scenes???
My copy shipped today from PlanetAxel!
Hopefully I´ll have it by next thursday.
Gonna be exciting to finally see the new gorier footage.
Review is up from DVDBeaver. The video quality looks amazing. I'm really excited about this one.
That drill kill picture looks awesome.
This got me confused...
On the Rock! Shock! Pop! review they say: "The transfer for this film was taken from the only existing 35mm answer print of the original cut of the film, which would have to be a blow up as the film was shot on 16mm."
On the DVDBeaver review they say: "While looking like 16mm - I understand the film was shot on 35mm and the aspect ratio for this Blu-ray disc is, oddly, 1.66:1 (IMDb states 1.85)."
The drill kill picture looks very graphic and looks very well done too. Picture is grainy but it doesn't look terrible. The you tube clip we saw looked great, but when you upload anything that has grain onto you tube, it eliminates the grain to a minimal
I'm pretty sure it was probably 16mm. It was just blown up to 35. That's what I'm thinking anyway, as this was a really low budget film and the first for many of the people working on it (directors, composer, makeup artist).
Thanks for the link. The video quality is much better than I had dared hope.
My disc has already arrived. I've been busy at the theatre the last few weeks, but Dorm is waiting on the top of my to-watch list, and I'm very much looking forward to it.
And I love the alternate title Death Dorm.
Diabolik DVD had this ready to go weeks ago, much to my surprise, and pleasure. A great-looking transfer (considering the source) with the expected juicy gore added back in, (along with the extended kills, the extra seconds of gruesome aftermath dismemberment were welcome, and one of the most best overall effects),passable sound, and fun time-waster supplements.
The killings of Daphne Zuniga and her parents drew an uncomfortable chuckle as always, but this time, the carnage(and popping of Debbie's head!) was much clearer.Patti's death was so vicious and cool,I was hoping for even one alternate shot of the amazing burn makeup glimpsed in the special features, but... no dice. This was the one poorly-handled effect in the film,in my opinion. The blink-and-you'll-miss-it glimpse looks more like a wax dummy that's been crudely colored with a child's red crayon...it could have been the coolest reveal/shock moment in the movie.
All in all, a four-star treatment for an unlikely (but deserving) cheapie that gives slasher fans hope that their guilty treasure might one day be rescued.
Hoping to see something Intruder-related in the coming weeks' announcements....
I blind bought this from Diabolik DVD and watched it last week. Didn't like it much at all. There are some interesting bonus features, but I would never watch the film itself again. Already sold the disc on ebay. I'm glad I bought it because I want to support Synapse, but this was one bad slasher.

My Borders order says it's supposed to be available tomorrow - hurry!
Got this in the mail yesterday, going to pop it in tonight. I've only seen the crappy transfer from the previous DVD a few years back so I'm looking forward to this.
Mine arrived Thursday so I got to watch it Friday. Loved it! It does appear to be 16mm blown up to 35mm, its' a grainy picture but it looks great.
Picked mine up today. $14.39 from Borders!
I can't wait to give it a spin! I probably won't have a chance to until mid-next week though.
Just viewed my copy. This is such a remarkable release, personally. Synapse never ceases to amaze me.
Watched this for the first time over the weekend and didn't love it as much as others on here. Wasn't bad or anything and some of the kills were decent. It just seemed like 20 min. could have been trimmed from it, and the characters weren't the most interesting group. Maybe because I'm missing the nostalgia for it? Transfer was good though!
Yeah it was ok but not great. The kills were pretty cool and the disc itself was quite nice. Glad I bought it anyway cause some of the kills are pretty fun. It was the first time watching it and I think a little nostalgia would've helped a lot.
Yikes, this one's bad...like Splatter University bad. Terribly dull and senseless. Even a shitfest like The Mutilator looks good compared to this! :eek1:
