Yeah, after seeing that comparison I don't think I'll bother with the 4k disc either. It really doesn't seem much different.

Thanks guys. I have the Second Sight blu-ray but was thinking of getting this. Now I'll import the Valerian 3D blu-ray instead.

For those of you who own the 4K disc , and have watched it, do you feel this is a worthwhile purchace?

I already have dark sky, the seriously ultimate, and the 40th AE from second sight .

If it had HDR or Dolby Vision, it might have been worth it, but it basically looks exactly the same as the 40th Blu-Ray, even up close.

4K is mostly overkill for 16mm movies, since there really isn't any more details to resolve.

Being a huge fan of the movie, I am fine with the purchase but I own this movie on numerous formats so perhaps the collector mentality prevails. However, it is my go to version to watch the movie now. If you have the US blu and are a huge fan, then go for it. If you have that UK blu, then there's probably no point.

I looked and I stared at the capaholic comparisons and I could not see a difference, seems like a pointless purchase to me.
