That puppy is mine. Indicator has been putting out some really nice REGION FREE stuff.
I already own all 3 films on blu.
Will be getting this. Indicator is knocking it out of the park lately with their releases.
Same. I would get this if I didn't though.
Oh hell yeah, I'm getting this. I do already own them, but Indicator does a pro job in smashing previous editions. You can almost count on all 3 being the definitive Blu-ray editions.
Has anyone ordered direct from the Indicator website and had delivery to U.S. ? What kind of shipping do they charge? Was wondering to order from them direct or get it through Amazon.uk . My previous Amazon.uk order went flawless. Not sure who would be cheaper too.
I haven't ordered direct, yet, but shipping for the Sinbad set to the US is £8.95.
I'm pretty sure Amazon would be cheaper in the long run, because at some point before release date they'll probably drop the price below the £40.99 price on http://www.powerhousefilms.co.uk, and then it'll drop a little more because Americans don't pay VAT through Amazon.co.uk.
Thanks for the info. That's what I was figuring. My first pre order of a couple of Indicator titles from Amazon.uk dropped in price just like you stated. I think that's where I'm gonna purchase it considering it worked out very well last time. It was even well packaged too.
P.S. - I checked on Amazon.uk and it would be £4.07 shipping. And that's including another additional movie I've been wanting to buy too.
Indicator posted a Sinbad update on their website:
New 4K restoration of The 7th Voyage of Sinbad from the original camera negative
2K restorations of The Golden Voyage of Sinbad and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger from the original camera negatives
Nice! This has me even more excited now.
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad could certainly use a new scan and restoration. The original Blu-ray came out way back in 2008 and could certainly be improved upon.

There seems to be a bit more pop on the colors for the Indicator release, but I can't tell if it is a matter of the contrast increased. There is one screen shot in particular that looks to me that it is possibly supposed to have a red tint to it for mood, perhaps like with the old Anchor Bay release of Halloween where the blue mood lighting was missing in a scene, appears to be gone from the Indicator screen shot. Take this worth a grain of salt though as I'm not certain the Twilight Time has the correct color timing for the scene since it has been a bit since I have watched it. As I said earlier, if I did not already have all 3 on blu, I'd be importing this set for sure. I'm looking forward to the screen comparisons the most for The 7th Voyage as that domestic blu-ray release I've always felt could have room for improvement. I think the real proof will be to pay the most attention to the effect screen shots as that is multiple layers of combined photography in one shot and can be wildly different in details when just compared to the live shots only.

The Indicator release looks to be dead-on, color wise, with both the Columbia TriStar DVD and the Explosive Media Blu-Ray, so the Twilight Time release appears to be the outlier. I have a feeling the gamma settings on the Twilight Time release weren't set properly when it was authored, giving it a somewhat dreary look by comparison.
Maybe it's just my screen but in those comparisons the TT and Indicator look identical to me. And if anything the TT has a little less grain. And the colors between Indicator and Columbia TriStar DVD look absolutely nothing alike.
SaviniFan was discussing the screens for Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, but I think you may be looking at the screens from The Golden Voyage of Sinbad.
Oh ok. That makes more sense now. I was using that "Golden" link. My confusion, Thanks.
There's some discussion in the Blu-ray.com thread that Indicator used the older master on Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger and not the newer master as advertised. I'm not sure what to make of it. Why would Sony supply them with an older master than what TT used on their release?
I've read some of those discussions regarding the Sinbad trilogy. Seems like the same person who was especially vocal about Arrow's House set has been rather accusatory on Indicator's Sinbad as well. Hasn't shipped yet, but I am still keeping my pre-order.
