Jeez. I'm out of work right now so it may be time to go through my collection and start selling slips! I won't ever sell my SUSPIRIA slip though, as it actually protects the steelbook case.
If someone is dumb enough to spend $30-$40 on a slipcover, then they deserve to get taken advantage of by scalpers. I mean, at least sell the bluray WITH the slip for crying out loud.
me too, i already own Dungeon Of Harrow (which i quite liked) but the other titles on the set don't interest me at all
I pulled the trigger on this. A little post-Xmas gift to myself. I think I've seen The Muthers before. And I kinda wanted some Boogie Nights-era porn in my collection.
I'm stoked for some of these upgrades myself and look forward to receiving the sets in my January package. In the horror/exploitation set The Muthers is a fun above-average Cirio Santiago exploitation action flick, The Hang Up is a great sexploitation indie from John Hayes with a a good dramatic arc between the characters, Dungeon of Harrow is fun cheap horror camp which I haven't seen since that disc first came out when VS launched so looking forward to revisiting. Murder on the Emerald Seas was so-so, but I'll be giving it another chance on Blu-ray. Haven't seen Flesh and Bullets so that'll be first up. The porno set has one of the better films of the genre - Dixie Ray Hollywood Star - which is actually a really good movie story-wise and spoof of the noir/private eye genre (I usually fast forward through most of the action) and features some genuine good performances from the cast. Hot and Saucy Pizza Girls is alright, but pretty standard fare, and haven't seen the others so look forward to checking them out, especially the infamous Prisoner of Paradise.
I actually saw Hot and Spicy Pizza Girls when I had an exploitation.tv subscription. I couldn't help but sing "Peter's Denial" in Paul Thomas' scenes (Paul Thomas played the apostle Peter in the film version of Jesus Christ Superstar, then immediately went to porn)
Ahhhhh. I haven't bought anything in the last month since Black Friday. I went in on the 5 Films 5 Years Volume 1 & 2 deal. What the hell.

Never saw the movie, but I am definitely in for buying this. I remember seeing it at a VHS rental store in the horror section back in the day with a brutal cover.
Yep, that's the one. Never knew what cover art you might find in a seemingly innocent Mom & Pop VHS video rental store.
Got the two 5 Years 5 Movies sets this week. Haven't watched any all the way through, but I did preview all of them. Quality varies, from best-they-can-do-with-the-source-material to holy-shit-this-looks-like-it-was-filmed-this-year. My only minor complaint is that the discs do not list which movies are on them, and they're not in the order listed on the back cover. Probably gonna have to leave a post-it note inside the case listing the titles on each disc. I previewed the porn titles. Dixie Ray Hollywood Star, you wouldn't even think it was a porn movie for the first 10 minutes. I can't think of another porno like that. And I was impressed with the period costuming and set design of Canterbury Tales (and I also loved that despite the details on those costumes and sets, the girls all still have like totally awesome 80s hairdos.) Kinda reminds me of a hilarious episode in a video store, when a mom was there with a couple of kids, and I remember a teary-eyed youngster bringing a movie to his mom saying "Mommy this video (cover) is scaring me". Then why the hell take it off the shelf and carry it around the store, dummy? Sorry kid, that's on you.
