I restrained myself and only bought "Pets", "Fugitive Girls" and the 2018 catalog. I was hoping for a 5 for 5 volume 3 set as I really enjoyed their first two volumes.

I really wanted to buy Bloodsuckers From Outer Space because I really love the artwork on that slipcover but I couldn't bring myself to pay $27 for it with shipping. I'll get the non-slipcover version (if there is one) and regular versions of Blood Hook, Terror and the two June horror titles next time there's an eBay or DD coupon.

I ordered all their horror slipcover horror releases. I am not sure how much I will like these films but feel like I can always resell them since they are the slip versions. That is my system, currently.

I agree with others here about how Blood Hook should have included the shorter cut as I found it too long for what it is.

They are currently about 2/3 sold out on Pets and Deadly Daphne’s Revenge, so those may well sell out before the sale ends.

And since they stated they will never re-release Deadly Daphne’s Revenge in any form or edition, it's sure to at least retain it's value for VS collectors.

Most of the current crop of films have pretty low ratings (Deadly Daphne, Blood Theater, Grave Robbers) but as you say these VS titles tend to retain their value. I went ahead and ordered five discs.

That seems to be the case with most VS releases. I mean, it's great that they give so much love to restoring low-budget films of this kind, but in the end I still want to watch a good movie. I did pick up A Woman's Torment and Snapshot, two blind buys from this sale. May go after one or two more. I'm open for recommendations, and I don't object to nudity or hardcore sex if it's a good movie.

I truly recommend Star Time, which is a genuinely good film

I've been going back and forth about this. Some have pointed out similarities to Videodrome (my favourite Cronenberg - love the seediness of it), and the lead actor Michael St. Gerard is beautiful, but it also looks a bit talky. I'm not really into movies that are so artsy that they become emotionally detached. Are there moments of genuine suspense, or is it more one of those "this is different, let's see how it plays out" experiences?

let's say that some of the imagery in Star Time resembles imagery in Videodrome but in a different context

Star Time is more of a cross between Henry Portrait Of A Serial Killer mixed with a bit of Network and, like i said, some of the imagery of Videodrome, but even that might give a wrong impression

i was also reminded of Requiem For A Dream (again, some of the imagery but in a different context), who knows if Aronofsky saw this and was inspired

Videodrome's also my favorite Cronenberg by a long shot and i reckon that you might like this film too

lastly i would say that Star Time was way more ambitious than i first expected and it's certainly not perfect (it drags a little in the finale and a certain character is quite naively oblivious), but when the end credits rolled, i was more than pleased with it

Star Time does look good, as does Blood Hook and Terror, but none of those films are part of the 50% off sale. I'll probably wait till November on those. I did add Lucifer's Women to my cart today though

The bad news is I spent nearly $500, but the good news is that I don't have to worry about buying another Vinegar Syndrome release for the rest of the year.

I know you guys aren't gonna do my finances any favors, but should I take a chance on Trip With the Teacher?

OK, I pulled the trigger on Trip with the Teacher, and then got suckered in by the "only 331 left" on Psychos in Love. Psychos breaks my rule of "sleaze, not cheese" as it's been called "Troma-esque" in reviews, but the dwindling numbers along with the screenshots which are plentiful in both gore and nudity just made me say yes to it. I'm done now.

I've enjoyed Psychos in Love since my first viewing in the 80's. I hope you enjoy it as well. To me it is money well spent.

This is from the 26th of May so a bit old but since their last email didn't give counts on Limited Editions I thought I'd share what we last heard:
I wish I knew they were letting you lay away orders until this sale over the past couple of months, I would have picked up Blood Hook. I saw that go for over $100 last week on eBay! I think MST3k fans are clamoring for it and may not quite realize there's a sleeveless version still for sale.

I had to pick up Blood Sucker's because is rad and so's the movie.

Jazzed about the second set of 5 Years 5 Films discs. If it's the same format (one porn, one horror/exploitation), here's hoping they put Dracula Sucks on the porn disc. I would have bought it at the current sale, but I'm too much of a Blu-Ray snob at this point to buy a standard definition disc.
