Does anyone know when the Warner Archive sale is? There are A LOT of titles I want. Is it as cheap as the Kino Lorber sale?

They have been known to do the Black Friday sale after Thanksgiving.

They'll eventually bring back the 4 for $44 sale. I was hoping it would happen before Halloween, but it looks unlikely now.

THE GREEN SLIME is great. Lots of action in it. The lead actress is also very involved in the action too. It feels a teeny bit like a Toho flick for some reason. Highly recommended.

Not sure about that review to be honest. I don't have the DVD but I feel like I don't need to in order to see that the blu-ray is quite an upgrade. I picked it up on Tuesday. Warner did say it was a new 2K scan and it definitely shows. It has beautifully resolved grain and it has that early '80s look (they used diffusion lenses to shoot this) but it looks natural to the source. I'm actually surprised at how good this looks. No digital manipulation, nice colours, good black levels. It looks fantastic. Just wish there was maybe a commentary or something. But A/V on this is stellar. I'd give it a 4.5/5 if I had to rate it.

Of course I bought the "Night School" dvd about a month before the blu was announced during Warner's last sale...but I suppose that's happened to all of us at one point or another...lol...the dvd will tide me over until the next sale...

The 4 for $44 sale is back a part of a "Black Friday Returns" promotion, including recent titles like Night School, The Green Slime, Innocent Blood and The Hidden. Not sure for how long though.
